OKness in Action:
Transactional Analysis Practitioner Training
Offered by Lucy Freedman, MAT, CTA, TAPI
When we choose to see the basic worth and dignity of all people and increase our understanding of ourselves and others, our lives are better and the lives of those around us are better.
This highly experiential online learning program is an in-depth introduction to the life-changing practice of transactional analysis (TA).
You are invited to explore how this course can open new doors and accelerate your personal and professional growth. A three-hour preview session will be held on September 20. (Sign up for the preview session at the bottom of the registration form below.)
Purpose of the Program
Have fun learning transactional analysis for use in your everyday life and professional fields such as
- personal growth
- family communication
- coaching
- counseling
- psychotherapy
- organizational development
- education, and
- adult learning.
TA is a modern and time-tested approach that includes the structure of our personalities, diagrams of our interactions with others moment-by-moment, understanding of the lifelong patterns we create, and processes for supporting ourselves and others when we want to make a change. It’s practiced worldwide and continues to evolve in exciting directions.
This course is highly interactive and unique for each group of participants. We use the group process as well as TA content to open new possibilities for personal and professional growth.
All transactional analysis training involves making a contract for what you want to accomplish. TAP Certification is in addition to any certification or licensure that is required for you to be professionally qualified in your field of practice.
By attending this full program and completing associated learning activities (discussions, reading, videos, and teaching the material), you may qualify for the TA Practitioner Certificate. You will also be able to apply for a TA 101 Certificate that enables you to pursue Certified Transactional Analysis training (through the International Transactional Analysis Association, details at https://www.itaaworld.com.)
After further practice with supervision as a TA Advanced Practitioner, you can go on to teach the TA Practitioner training to others when you become a TAP Instructor. Details on the TAP program are available at https://nataa.net. Membership in NATAA is required for certification.
Curriculum
In the program, you will complete the objectives for TA Practitioner Qualification as required by NATAA. There may be updates during the program as the NATAA Certification Committee is revising the requirements. You will be informed of any new developments.

- Development, Structure and Function of the Personality (Ego States)

As part of your certification, you may choose to complete additional hours of training via NATAA or ITAA online workshops, in-person TA conferences or Gatherings, previous training in TA, an additional TA 101, or a workshop with another TAPI.

Each session covers an essential component of TA, provides theory and diagrams, and demonstrates the material in real-time exercises with time for questions and discussion. You will be encouraged to find many ways to enact “OKness in Action” in your life and work.
